Synergy Jazz Concert Series 2011-2012

November 11-14 • Jack Wilkins
A graduate of Oberlin College and Indiana University, Wilkins is a professor of Jazz Studies at the University of South Florida. He performs internationally and is a member of the Jamey Aebersold Summer Jazz Workshops faculty. Wilkins also serves as a member of the Synergy Jazz Foundation Advisory Board.

December 16-19 • Dr. Ariel Alexander
A graduate of Indiana University and the University of Southern California, Dr. Alexander teaches at Chaffey College and remains active as a performer and clinician. Dr. Alexander has an exceptional ability with kids, bringing out the best in each student. http://arielalexander.com/

February 10-13 • Pat Harbison
Pat Harbison is a professor of Jazz Studies at Indiana University and a member of the Jamey Aebersold Summer Jazz Workshops. A student of Carmine Caruso and William Adam, Harbison brings a unique organic quality to the study of Jazz.

March 9-12 • Corey Christiansen
Christiansen keeps an unusual schedule, teaching both at Utah State and Indiana University. Christiansen is a phenomenal performer and remains particularly popular with the elementary crowd.

April 13-16* • Jazz Appreciation Month and the Second Annual Jam @ Joe's with Tim Coffman
Coffman is on the Jazz Studies faculty at De Paul University while remaining active as a first call trombonist throughout the Chicago area. He is one of the few to receive the Performer's Certificate from the Indiana University School of Music.
